PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that can prevent the occurrence of a defect such as a communication error by using a newest modulation system. SOLUTION: Whether or not the 1st digit number of a dial number denoted by a dial number signal sent to a line is coincident with a preset setting value is discriminated (step S2). When not coincident (step S2: N), a facsimile text is transmitted in the V34 modulation system (step S4), and when coincident (step S2: Y), the modulation system is changed into the V17 modulation system then the facsimile text is transmitted (step S3).
