PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam synthesizing device for multiple beams which is capable of making light utilization efficiency uniform between respective light beam with high efficiency and consists of small-sized and simple constitution. SOLUTION: The light beams BM11 to BMnm of m*n pieces are made incident in a matrix form in correspondence to the arraying direction of the respective beam splitter surfaces BS1 to BSm-1, BS1 to BSn-1, of the first and second beam synthesizing means S1, S2, by which these light beam may be synthesized to substantially one piece of the light beam. In addition, the reflectivity and transmittance of the respective beam splitter surfaces BS1 to BSm-1, BS1 to BSn-1 of the first and second beam synthesizing means S1, S2 are so set that the light quantities ratio before and after the beam synthesis are made approximately uniform, by which the light quantities of the respective light beams after synthesis are made approximately equal while the light quantities of the incident beams are kept the same among the beams relating to all of m*n pieces of the light beams BM11 to BMnm. Additionally, m*n pieces of the light beams BM11 to BMnm are made incident on the first beam synthesizing means S1 in the matrix form and, therefore, the relatively small-sized constitution is merely necessitated.
