PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to exhibit the same brightness attenuation performance in any place of a latent image forming range. SOLUTION: The production of an electrophotographic photoreceptor by forming a charge transfer layer on a charge generating layer formed on a cylindrical substrate by subjecting the surface of the charge generating layer to dip coating of a coating liquid for forming the charge transfer layer in a coating application vessel 1 is executed in this process. In such a case, the cylindrical substrate formed with the charge generating layer is fixed to the coating application vessel 1 and the coating liquid for forming the charge transfer layer is supplied at a prescribed rate from an opening existing at the bottom end of the coating application vessel 1 and is filled in the coating application vessel 1.
