<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of disconnection of wiring below a defect on an overcoat film, in an active matrix type liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: A protective film 41 is formed simultaneously with formation of a pixel electrode 4 with the same material (transparent metal oxide such as ITO) as the pixel electrode 4 on the upper surface of an overcoat film 29 corresponding to a part a little broader than the overlapping part of a signal line 7 and a drain electrode 27. Consequently, even if a defect exists on the overcoat film 29 in the part where the signal line 7 overlaps the drain electrode 27, an etching liquid of ITO(indium tin oxide) used in the formation of the pixel electrode 4 does not soak into the defective part of the overcoat film 29 owing to the protective film 41 existing on the defect. Furthermore, no discontinuity of the signal line 7 composed of Al due to an Al-ITO cell reaction can be made to occur.</p> |
