PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp capable of for minimizing its bulb diameter, maintaining mercury vapor pressure in a proper range, and reducing the time until the light flux is stabilized at start. SOLUTION: A bulb 31 is 8 to 11 mm in outer tube diameter and 0.7 to 1.0 mm in thickness, a discharge passage 39 is formed in bent shape by connecting three or more tubes 34a to 34c in sequence, and electrodes 33 are sealed at both ends. Mercury vapor pressure can be maintained in a proper rage, and the time until the light flux is stabilized can be reduced by providing auxiliary amalgam 52b at the end of the tube 34b placed halfway in the bulb 31. |
