PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectroscope having a small-sized light-weight accurate slit position regulating mechanism adapted to a portable luminescent analyzer. SOLUTION: Slit plates 4a, 4b are fixed to a slidably movable support member 3 along guide shafts 2a, 2b, one position of the member 3 is specified by a pin 31 fixed to a micrometer head 10, a spherical body 9 and the member 3, and the member 3 is urged toward its specifying position by coiled springs 7a, 7b. Before measuring an unknown sample, a standard sample is measured, and positions of slits 6a, 6b are regulated by turning a knob 15 so that a detection signal of a predetermined light spectrum becomes maximum. Thus, an accurate analysis is conducted without influence of a change of the ambient temperature.
