PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an effect imparter capable of surely imparting a special effect even to musical tone signals not containing harmonic overtone components. SOLUTION: This effect imparter has a frequency modulation circuit 2, a feedback circuit 3 for causing feedback with a prescribed gain toward the input side from the output side of this frequency modulation circuit 2 and a low frequency oscillator 6 capable of properly adjusting the modulation frequency in the frequency modulation circuit 2. Further, a distortion imparter 1 for imparting a distortion component to the input signal is installed between the feedback point of the feedback circuit 3 and the input point of the frequency modulation circuit 2. As a result, the input signal is imparted with a harmonic overtone component by the distortion imparter 1 and is then eventually supplied to the frequency modulation circuit 2 and, therefore, the interference points of the input signal and the characteristic curve of the comb, tooth shape are increased and consequently, the special effect may be surely added to the input signal. |
