PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent photographic paper from fogging owing to leak light of a digital micromirror device(DMD) by providing a switching means which passes and cuts off light on the optical path from an optical modulating means to the photosensitive material. SOLUTION: A light source 3 always irradiates the DMD 4 with light and when the photographic paper 8 is exposed, the micromirrors of the DMD 4 are slanted at a specific angle to a substrate surface so that the light emitted by the light source 3 is reflected by the DMD 4 to the photographic paper 8 according to image information. A shutter 6 is so positioned that an opening part 7 is open. The shutter 6 is arranged inside the opening part 7 and passes and cuts off the light from the opening part 7. When the photographic paper 8 is not exposed, the micromirrors are slanted to the substrate surface so that the light from the light source 3 is reflected in a direction different from the direction to the photographic paper 8. When the non-exposure state lasts for a time longer than a specific time, the shutter 6 is so positioned as to shield the opening part 7.
