PRODUCT ARCHITECTURE RETRIEVAL INFORMATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a well-experienced engineer to automatically use experience and design which were used before by judging whether components of a product can be specified for the design of the product by using characteristic information, function information, and functional architecture information. SOLUTION: A server 11 includes DOORS software 12, product architecture retrieval information software(PARIS) 13, architecture wizard software 14, and a product information data base 15. Then information regarding characteristics of >=1 component of the product which functions as specified is obtained, information regarding the functions of >=1 components of the product is obtained, and information regarding functional architecture of >=1 components of the product is obtained. Further, it is judged whether or not one or more components can be specified for the design of the product by using the characteristic information, function information, and information regarding functional architecture.
