SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY OF TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control lever of a transmission capable of performing a mode selection function and a shift function by an intuitional lever motion of the lever. SOLUTION: A guide slot has first, second and third sub slots forwardly/ rearwardly extending at a space from a main slot and is connected to the main slot through a connection slot laterally extending. A sector member 80 is pivotally mounted between a housing 12 and a lever 60. A first magnet is mounted to the lever 60 and a second magnet is mounted to the sector member 80. A hole effect sensor is mounted to the housing 12. A lever return spring 142 urges the lever 60 toward a rear end of the main slot and a lateral return spring urges the lever 60 toward the sector member 80. A centering spring urges the sector member 80 to a center position. A detent mechanism is operated to maintain the lever 60 in the sub slot at a releasable state.
