PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unitary and efficient shape modeling technique which can properly preserve phasic information and geometric information. SOLUTION: In a modeling method, modeling is performed in accordance with the data format of an object by using homotopy as an identical concept, The method includes steps S102, 106, and 110 of discriminating the data format of the object, steps S104, 108, 112, and 114 of selecting a prescribed homotopic expression from different homotopic expressions, and a step S116 of modeling the object by using the selected homotopic expression.
