PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required for driving each word line by judging whether a redundant memory cell is selected or a main word is selected from an address input, in a semiconductor memory having a redundant word driver for selecting a redundant memory cell and a main word driver for selecting a normal memory cell. SOLUTION: A redundancy discriminating circuit 20 has constitution in which a control signal RDC0 for activating redundant word drivers 40, 41 using dynamic NOR circuits 21, 22 and a dynamic AND circuit 23 which can set an initial state of an output signal independently of an input signal and a control signal XDC for activating a main word driver 50 are generated. And initial states of the control signals RDC and XDC are kept at a level at which both of the redundant word driver and the main word driver are made non-activation.
