SOLUTION: For example, a thermocouple 1 composed of a thermocouple body and a metal protective tube arranged in a microwave oven 4 is installed so as to become the same electric potential as a microwave oven inner wall 7 by using a support metal fitting 2, for example, a metal fastener 5 made of copper. In this case, an insulating material for electrically insulating the thermocouple body and the metal protective tube requires a thickness of a degree of suppressing the penetration of an external electric field. The tip of the thermocouple 1 is inserted into liquid housed in a vessel, for example, a beaker so that a temperature of the contents is measured as an electric potential difference. A phenomenon such as electric discharge is not generated at microwave irradiation time, and similarly, the discharge is not generated at power source cutoff or even when ON and OFF are repeated, so that safe and accurate temperature measurement and temperature control can be performed.
