PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emission analyzer having a small power supply device and a discharge circuit, which can be used for arc emission and spark emission in common. SOLUTION: The output of a high frequency inverter 1 is selectively switched to an arc discharge smoothing circuit 4 and a spark discharge RC integrating circuit 5 by a change-over relay 3a, and simultaneously each output is switched as input to a discharge circuit 9 by a change-over relay 3b. At this time, the circuit configuration is adapted to individually select the polarities of a sample 36 and an electrode 35 by each discharge. In the discharge circuit 9, a self- inductance value of a coil 21 and a gap of a control gap 20 are set to start arc discharge, thereby, the discharge circuit 9 can be used for arc discharge and spark discharge in common. In a control circuit 7, during arc discharge, before lighting, an error amplifier 28 is operated to conduct constant voltage control and after lighting, an error amplifier 27 is operated to conduct constant current control. Further, a gas piping system 33 is disposed to supply inert gas to a light emission stand only during spark discharge.
