PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of a measurement error due to NOx, SOx and phenol in dissolving an exhaust gas sample in water, and measuring the dissolved chlorophenols from fluorescent intensity. SOLUTION: 1. Before water dissolution of an exhaust gas sample, NO2 in the exhaust gas sample is converted into NO. 2. According to the correlation between the previously analyzed sulphate ion concentration and fluorescent intensity, the fluorescent intensity of the sulphate ion is subtracted from the apparent fluorescent intensity measurement value of chlorophenols containing the fluorescent intensity of SOx dissolved in water to correct the fluorescent intensity measurement vaue. 3. The fluorescent intensity of the net chlorophenols is obtained by a designated arithmetic expression obtained according to the relation between the fluorescent intensity of previously analyzed chlorophenols and phenol and the fluorescent intensity measurement value containing both of phenol and chlorophenols in two designated different measurement wavelengths of the chlorphenol containing the fluorescent intensity of phenols dissolved in water.
