PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a combustor in which trial operation mode can be executed surely and unconsciously of a user by integrating the combustion time after start of use and executing a trial operation mode for adjusting the combustion conditions of a burner until the integrated combustion time exceeds a trial operation set time. SOLUTION: A control section H comprises a computer and regulates the mixing ratio of fuel gas and combustion air in an air duct 7 as the combustion conditions of a burner 3 until the combustion time integrated by a combustion time integrating means 19 after start of use, i.e., after installation of a hot water supply apparatus, exceeds a preset trial operation set time (e.g. 150 min). A trial operation mode for controlling the delivery hot water temperature to a target temperature based on an operation command from a remote control operating section R is executed. Upon elapsing the trial operation time, the burner 3 is burnt at a specific adjusted mixing ratio and a normal operation mode for controlling the delivery hot water temperature to a target temperature based on a command from the remote control operating section R is executed.
