PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for drawing LUT curve by which curve data suitable for pictures or desired by users can be prepared and smooth curves can be drawn. SOLUTION: When the curve data used for correcting the gradation of a picture are generated, based on an LUT curve drawing dialogue opened on a picture editing screen, the graph area in the dialogue is set to the first area in the range from the minimum coordinates (X=0, Y=0) to the maximum coordinates (X=100, Y=100) and the second area outside the first area and a curve is drawn by setting indicating points in the first and second area. Then the curve data corresponding to the drawn curve are registered.
