Evaluating the operating conditions of an installation with a series of mobile components (5, 6, 8) controlled by electric motors comprises continuously monitoring a series of signals representing movement parameters of the components, transmitting the signals to a separate processing unit, and comparing them with standard values and evaluating the future evolution of the signals to determine or validate at least one maintenance operation for the installation. The mobile components comprise one tipper (5) for the fuel assemblies in a reactor well (2), a second tipper (6) in a fuel well, a mobile transfer cage and a winch (15, 16) operated by an electric motor and a transfer carriage (8).
