The system comprises a narrow field sensor (C1) mounted on the weapon and a wide field sensor (C2) mounted on the head of the soldier. Bearing sensing devices (5,6) mounted on the weapon and the soldier respectively determine the bearing and movement. A rotation matrix is calculated estimating the variation in the optical axis. Combining this matrix and the field images, a reticle can be generated on a headgear unit (4).
