<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the scale of the road facility as much as possible by making a guide wheel projecting from the side of a vehicle run along a guide wall prepared along the side edge of a road and inhibiting the steering of the vehicle when the lateral position of a running vehicle is regulated by the contact vehicle guide system. SOLUTION: The guide wheels 31a and 31b of a single side of a vehicle touch a guide wall 100a in a steering free state via the processing of a control unit and an automatic operation control unit. Thus, the wall 100a regulates the lateral position of the vehicle and at the same time the lateral force is applied to the vehicle from the wall 100a via the wheels 31a and 31b which are supported by the guide wheel dampers 42 and 52. When the lateral force exceeds the restoring moment of a steering wheel, the steering wheel is naturally set in a neutral state (straight advance direction). As a result, the vehicle is stopped by the forcible brake control with the wheels 31a and 31b set along the wall 100a. At the same time, the damping force of a steering damper is controlled.</p> |
