PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mesh pattern processor which can decrease the number of vertexes of a contour, reduce the amount of data, and increase the processing speed by finding midpoints between adjacent intersections of the contour and mesh grating points, approximating the contour with the line connecting the midpoints, and managing the approximated contour. SOLUTION: An extracting means 21 specifies the contour of the whole mesh pattern to be extracted. An intersection data generating means 22 finds the intersections of the contour extracted by the extracting means 21 and mesh gratings. An approximated data generating means 23 finds the midpoints between adjacent intersections according to the intersection data found by the intersection data generating means 22, connects the midpoints to approximate the contour, and finds and stores irreducible vertex data, needed to display the approximated contour, in an outline vertex data storage table 31. A contour data display means 25 specifies the contour to be displayed and reads the vertex data of the contour out of the outline vertex data storage table 31 to display the contour. |
