PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method, for voltammetry, in which a measurement is continued automatically until a precise measured value is obtained when a container is set so as to start the measurement and in which the measurement can be performed in a short time and with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This voltammetric apparatus is provided with a control part which applies a voltage across a working electrode 2 and a counter electrode 1 in order to sweep the potential of the working electrode 2 within a range of a prescribed potential from the electrode potential of a comparison electrode part 3 and which detects the prepeak value of a current flowing across the working electrode 2 and the counter electrode 1. In addition, it is provided with a monitoring means which monitors a potential across the working electrode 2 and the comparison electrode part 3. The control part performs a first voltage sweep. When the monitoring means detects that a spontaneous potential across the working electrode 2 and the comparison electrode 3 is stabilized in a prescribed range value, the control part performs a second voltage sweep, and it detects a prepeak value in the second voltage sweep so as to be used as measured data.
