PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas burner, capable of shortening flames and improving a heating efficiency even in a gas burner contriving the enlargement of a thermal power without increasing the outer diameter of a burner main body, and capable of restraining the generation of CO and NOx. SOLUTION: A gas burner is provided with a multitude of flame ports 3, continuous from a space 2 in a burner main body 1 to the outer side surface of the burner main body 1 and arrayed in a row, while the flame ports 3 are arrayed in a dense condition that a space between the flame ports 3 is narrower than the width of the flame ports 3. In such a burner, respective flame ports 3 are formed so as to have a high height and whose vertical side is longer than the horizontal side of the same while parts, whose width is wider than that of a space between neighboring flame ports 3, are formed at a plurality of places in the peripheral direction at every plurality of pieces of the flame ports 3.
