PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a radio selective calling device until the device completes establishment of synchronization. SOLUTION: Before detecting a synchronizing signal in an asynchronous state, whether or not an electric field is received from a frequency channel is confirmed, a synchronizing signal is detected from the frequency channel from which the electric field in detected to surely conduct synchronization establishment. In a scanning state of each frequency channel, a synchronization pattern is monitored for some time to detect the synchronizing signal resulting in increasing a power supply time to a radio section 12. The electric field level is confirmed in a short time by detecting the electric level earlier so as to avoid detection of the synchronizing signal under a circumstance where errors sometime take place frequently thereby reducing the power consumption. |
