PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum electrolytic capacitor which is excellent in electrical properties by a method wherein a leakage current is prevented, and the electrolytic capacitor is restrained in impedance in high frequencies. SOLUTION: An anode foil and a cathode foil of aluminum are rolled into a rolled element interposing a separator made of paper, glass paper, or a mixture of paper and glass fiber between them, a silicon-containing film is formed on the rolled element, the rolled element coated with the film is thermally treated for the formation of a capacitor element, the capacitor element is dipped into a solution containing thiophene or its derivative for polymerization. The capacitor element is further impregnated with first conductive high polymer molecule, dipped into a solution which contains thiophene or its derivative or aniline or its derivative to enable polymerization to occur, and impregnated with second conductive high polymer molecule for the formation of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
