SOLUTION: This automatic answering telephone system where a telephone set of a recipient automatically replies an incoming call when the recipient is out and informs a sender about the absence of the recipient, is provided with a telephone number memory function 11 that receives and stores telephone number data of the sender and a telephone number display function 12, that displays the received telephone number data of the sender to allow the recipient side to automatically identify and confirm who the sender is.
