<p>An electrical conductive assembly (1) including an electrical conductor (3) and an annular laminate insulator (4) surrounding the electrical conductor (3). The annular laminate insulator (4) includes an inner ply of a first polymeric composition (5) and an outer ply of a second polymeric composition (7) wherein the outer ply of second polymeric composition (7) has a hardness in excess of the combined individual abrasion resistance of the inner and outer plies (5, 7). The annular laminate is flame retardant and stabilized against thermal oxidation by the inclusion of a flame retardant and a thermal antioxidant. The polymers of the first and second polymeric compositions (5, 7) are thermosetting resins, crystalline thermoplastics having a melting point of at least about 130 °C or (5) amorphous thermoplastics having a glass transition temperature of at least about 130 °C.</p> |
