The invention relates to a method for folding or re-folding pockets with rou nd edge sections and to a device for carrying out said method. The round foldin g slider elements (9; 53) are provided with concave folding edges (49; 54) and are moved or designed in such a way that the ends (50, 51; 55) thereof move forward one after the other or simultaneously in relation to the center area of the concave folding edges.The transition areas between the round and straight edge sections of the pockets undergo a particularly intensive form of folding in order to obtain an even folding edge on all sides.
