A catheter guide wire (1) made of the same material, characterized by comprising a portion (7) having a transformation point and portions (3, 5) not having transformation points, wherein a body portion (3) is not excessively soft and has a proper rigidity while a joint portion (7) has a pliability, thereby sufficiently transmitting a guide wire (1) pushing force from the body portion (3) to the joint portion (7) and enhancing an insertion operability of the guide wire (1).
