The invention concerns a method for managing a disinfection cycle which consists in optimising between a minimum and a maximum disinfection time, the duration of the disinfecting treatment. The installation comprises at least a temperature sensor (14) whereof the data are recognised by a control unit (13) where the desired temperature for the treatment as well as the maximum and minimum treatment time can be displayed. The unit (13) controls the valve (12) supplying vapour to the enclosure.
