PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dispersibility of materials for a recording material by dispersing a stock fluid with a media dispersing machine and further dispersing it with a high pressure homogenizer. SOLUTION: A stock fluid containing materials for a recording material and a solvent is dispersed with a media dispersing machine and further dispersed with a high pressure homogenizer. The materials for a recording material are materials contained in the recording layer, protective layer, middle layer, back coat layer, undercoat layer or substrate of the recording material and may be a coloring material, a dye, an organic material, an inorganic material and an electrically conductive agent. The solvent may be selected from ketones such as acetone and isophorone, alcohols such as methyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol and glycols such as ethylene glycol. A ball mill, a planet ball mill or the like is used as the media dispersing machine. The high pressure homogenizer is not particularly limited and a homogenizer in which a fluid collides against a wall, a plug, etc., or a homogenizer in which a fluid is divided into plural parts and these parts are made to collide against each other with high speed may be used.
