PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information change method of communication equipment capable of accurately and automatically changing information inside the communication equipment with change data and time as a boundary, extremely improving the handleability of the communication equipment and releasing a user from troublesomeness because of eliminating the need of a change operation. SOLUTION: In this information change method, when the transmission origin telephone number of 11 digits is added to a character message and distributed from a message center, it is recognized that the change data and time come by that distribution and the telephone number of 10 digits before the change of memory dial automatically stored in a E2 PROM for instance is automatically changed to the telephone number of 11 digits after the change. The change program is stored in a ROM.
