PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam of constant width capable of providing rest zones and having the durability to high-speed operation, by forming a cam surface of a cam body on a curved surface excluding a plan view circular arc observed in the rotation axial direction, within a range of at least a part of the angle of rotation. SOLUTION: A cam curve 10 has four rest zones in an angle of rotation of a cam body, and the displacement of a plane contacted with a cam surface of the cam body is not found at three points. The displacement curve of the plane obtained from the cam curve is represented by a formula: X∝cos(3θ)-+3 cos(θ). In the formula, X is the vertical displacement of the plane in a case when the cam body is rotated in a condition that the plane is contacted with the cam surface movably in the vertical direction. According to the cam curve, the rest zones where a speed is zero, can be obtained at 0 deg.C, 90 deg.C, 180 deg.C, 270 deg.C of the angle of rotationθof the cam body. In this case, the cam curve comprises four rest zones relative to the angle of rotationθof the cam body, but the six or eight rest zones can similarly be available.
