Sheet material is drawn into a machine, e.g. paper into a rotary printing press, by attaching the end to a draw bar (22) which is carried along the material path by side chains (15). The chains (15) have openings so that the draw bar (22) can be easily attached or removed by spring-loaded pegs (24). An Independent claim is also included for a rotary printing press including drier, cooler and folding unit fitted with the claimed drawing-in arrangement.
