The appts. to mix a multi-component mass, especially for dental applications, has a number of replaceable cartridges (5) which open into a dynamic or static mixer. The control (30) acts on an electromotor (15) to operate all the plunger pistons (11) to eject the cartridge contents, so that the material speeds are constant and held at a given level. The pistons can be moved forward at one speed, and retracted at a higher speed. The forward speed is reduced, when there is no load resistance.
