The method carried out distinguishes between wheels on the right and the left sides of the vehicle and the sign of a path acceleration (b) produced at an electronic wheel system. The wheel electronic units are provided at different wheels in corresp. mounted positions. So that additionally the sign of the alteration of the centrifugal acceleration (z) is determined during the path acceleration (b), and with which is multiplied for the sign of the path acceleration (b) determined for the respective wheel. Also by comparison of the products determined for the different wheels, from these both signs between the wheels on the right and left hand side of the vehicle, is differentiated.
