The lateral rib retractor clamp has a curved toothed rod (1) carrying a pair of relatively adjustable holders (2, 4), each supporting a curved retractor blade (3, 5), positioned on the convex outer side of the curved toothed rod. One of the holders (2) is fixed in position relative to the toothed rod (1), the other holder (4) attached to the toothed rod via a guide block (6) with a slot (7) having opposing sides exhibiting the same curvature as the toothed rod, for movement along the latter.
