A clutch operational control apparatus (75) controls an engaging force of a starting clutch (5) provided between an automatic transmission (CVT) and driving wheels (8). The clutch (5) is controlled to provide creep movement for parking, etc. When the engine is idling and no foot brake (FB) is applied, a normal creep mode is used. When a foot brake (FB) is applied, an intake vacuum pressure feedback control of the clutch (5) is undertaken to provide good creep control under braking. Under this control, the clutch is controlled so that the intake pressure approaches a target intake vacuum pressure based on actual intake vacuum pressure determined when the transmission shift position was in the non-driving range and the engine in the idling state.
