An infinitely-variable automotive gear (1) has a variator (4) with frictionally-engaged power transmission, or a conical pulley-driven gear. The power input can be sub-divided into at least two power segments, either by means of a first (2) variator (4) take-off point, or a second take-off point (3) which by-passes the variator (4), or through both (2, 3).
