The two ends of the pane-holder (1) grip round the pane by ribs (13,14,19) on the inside of the rail (3). The ribs extend from the rail crosspiece (3c) to its leg (11,12) ends (15,16). The interval (a) between the two legs (17,18) of the U-ribs approximately equals the thickness (d) of the pane (6) and the interval (A) between the legs of the rail increases near their free ends, and is here matched by the increasing thickness of the pane. The third U-rib (19) is sited between the two ends of the rail. The rib interval so relates to the pane thickness that the rib legs are pre-tensioned against the pane faces (7,8) by the springiness of the rib legs and the rail legs acting as leaf springs. The insides of the rail legs are planar, flat and parallel. The wall thickness of the rail and rib legs remains equal over the entire length. |
