PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating water soluble components such as salts efficiently and simply from exhaust gas dust or incineration ash. SOLUTION: In the separation of water soluble components from exhaust gas dust or incineration ash, granules obtained from the dust or the ash are contacted with an aqueous solvent to extract the water soluble components and separated into the extraction residue and an extraction liquid. Cement dust, urban refuse incineration ash molten fly ash, sewage sludge incineration fly ash, sewage sludge incineration ash molten fly ash, and the like can be used as the exhaust gas dust or the incineration ash. The amount of the aqueous solvent to be used is, for example, 40-500 pts.wt. for 100 pts.wt. of the granules. The obtained extraction liquid can be used as a fertilizer, a road antifreeze, and the like, and the extraction residue can be used as a cement raw material and the like.
