PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure a micro-displacement of a prescribed region. SOLUTION: A body surface is irradiated with a laser beam emitted from a laser-emitting element 30 with a straight irradiating pattern, so as to have the laser beam intersect to a carotid artery 15 in an irradiating device 19 and the straight irradiating pattern is imaged on a two-dimensional flat light- detecting face 46 of a light-receiving device 20 provided at a position which is separated by a prescribed distance to a plane contg. the irradiating device 19 and a straight line 40 formed by the laser light irradiated on the body surface 16 to output a signal which represents the displacement of the body surface 16, on which the straight line 40 is formed from the light-receiving device 20. In addition, since the surrounding of the straight line 40 formed on the body surface 16 is pressed by a pressing face 28 of a housing 18 and the distance between the straight line 40 and the carotid artery 14 is shortened, the influence of the pulse wave of a jugular vein 15 on the displacement of the body surface 16 immediately above the carotid artery 14 is decreased. Therefore, it is possible to accurately measure the pulse wave of the carotid artery by determining roughly a range for measurement so as to contain the upper part of the carotid artery 14, without precisely determining a region of measurement.
