MOTOR-DRIVEN POWER STEERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven power steering device capable of preventing the generation of tooth striking sounds using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A steering shaft 3 is coupled with a follower gear 10 meshing with a drive gear 9 rotated by a motor 8 generating an assisting force for steering. The arrangement includes a first resilient member to generate a torsion torque transmitted from the drive gear 10 to follower gear 10 at the time of straight run steering and a second resilient member 83 to generate a torsion torque transmitted from the follower gear 10 to drive gear 9. The torque applied to the steering shaft 3 on the basis of the generated torsion torque on the first resilient member and the torque applied to the steering shaft 3 on the basis of the generated torsion torque on the second resilient member 83 are set as having opposite directions and equal size at the time of straight run steering.
