PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyvinyl chloride resin having good quality with less fish eyes and discolored foreign materials. SOLUTION: This is a method for producing a polyvinyl chloride resin by using a polymerizer equipped with a mechanical seal for the agitator axis on the lower end plate part of the polymerizer, the polymerizer having a washing water charging nozzle 3 on the upper end plate part and a discharging outlet 1 on the lower end plate part, wherein the nozzle 3 is located, in relation with the outlet 1, on a semicircular section which is different from the semicircular section on which the outlet 1 is located, the semicircular sections being determined by a line bisecting the top view of the polymerizer in the three-sided drawing drawn by trigonometry, the line passing the center of the polymerizer and located at right angles to the line passing the center of the outlet 1 and the center of the polymerizer, and by performing cleaning of the polymerizer with washing water charged from the nozzle 3, after completion of the polymerization and discharging of the product from the inside.
