PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerating method of spherical mullite sand, with which sand regenerating electric power and sand equipment cost can be reduced when the regenerating treatment is executed by applying an inter-grain friction type regenerator after treating the recovered spherical mullite sand after casting into a fluidized bed type drier. SOLUTION: When the recovered and dried spherical mullite sand after casting, is charged into the inter-grain friction type regenerator, the regenerating treatment is executed by charging ceramic powder having smaller grain diameter than the grain diameter of the spherical mullite sand by 0.01-10 wt.% of the dried spherical mullite sand as abrasive material and also, the stuck binder is burnt and removed by heating the abrasive material firmly sticking the binder at high temperature and the abrasive material is used in the circulation.
