摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure monitoring apparatus which can keep high accuracy on estimation of blood pressure, without burdening a patient in the blood pressure monitoring apparatus which determines an estimated blood pressure value of a living body based on information on pulse wave transmitting speed of a pulse wave transmitted in the arteries of a subject. SOLUTION: Normalized pulse wave areas VR are successively determined from pulse waves of the peripheral parts, successively detected by means of a photoelectric pulse wave sensor 40 with a peripheral blood information determining means 62. Since the normalized pulse wave areas VR determined by the peripheral blood information determining means 62 increase, an inclinationαin a preset relation: (EBP=(1/DTRP)+β)(where DTRP is pulse wave transmitting time andβis a constant) used in an estimated blood pressure determining means 58 increases, the relation is adjusted, accuracy of the estimated blood pressure value EBP determined by using the modified relation is kept at high accuracy.</p>
