PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an optical system consisting of a charging device for uniformly charging an image carrier, a laser and the like and miniaturize an image-forming apparatus by setting a ferroelectric layer to a front face of the image carrier, and a latent image write means for applying an electric field to the ferroelectric layer and leaving a polarization in accordance with image information. SOLUTION: An image carrier 1 is formed by printing after applying a ferroelectric layer 2 to a front face of an aluminum drum and is held rotatably by a driving device. An image write means 3 is set opposite to the image carrier 1, which selectively impresses voltages of different polarities between an image part and a non-image part, thereby writing to the image carrier in accordance with image information to be recorded. After the writing, a thin layer of a charged toner is adhered to a polarized latent image by a developing device 4, thereby forming a toner image. The toner image is transferred by a transferring device 5 to a recording paper 6 and fixed by a fixing device 7. The remaining toner on the image carrier 1 is finally removed by a cleaner 8, so that the image carrier is initialized for a next image formation. |
