PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release valve including a release piston exhibiting good responsiveness at the time of normal braking decompression and ensuring good sealing performance between the release piston and a cylinder. SOLUTION: This release valve 1 is equipped with a cylinder 11 installed in a valve casing 10, a release piston 12 inserted slidably in the cylinder 11, and a ring-shaped seal member 18 installed between the release piston 12 and cylinder 11, wherein the cylinder 11 is furnished at the inner surface with a ring-shaped groove 19 to admit insertion of the seal member 18, and one side wall 22 of the groove 19 is provided with a clearance part 23 to admit the deformation of the internal surface part of the seal member 18. |
