PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device admitting the advancing of a brake pedal by a stroke simulator through controlling of the brake hydraulic pressure using a hydraulic control valve means, whereby a sufficient braking force is secured by a normal pedal stamping force even when the control valve means, etc., is in failure. SOLUTION: Using a hydraulic control valve means (solenoid valve SI and SD), the output hydraulic pressure of a power hydraulic source PW is controlled in accordance with the operation of a brake pedal BP and supplied to each wheel cylinder WC (solenoid valve SC1 to be put in close position and another SC2 put in the open position). When at least one of the solenoid valve SI and SD and an electronic control device ECU is in failure, a master cylinder MC is connected with the wheel cylinder WC and energized by a boosting means (pressure governor valve RG), when a solenoid valve SC3 should be put in the open position, and in normal state, the actuation of the boosting means is prohibited (SC3 to be put in close position). |
