<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve the reliability of preprocessing conducted before reading and to prevent an erroneous action by providing a first inversion section overturning a document on the upstream side of a reading position, and providing a second inversion section overturning the document on the downstream side of the reading position. SOLUTION: A document is conveyed to a platen roller 19 forming a reading position from a conveyance path P3, and the reading position is formed at the lower end of the platen roller 19. The document having passed through the reading position is conveyed to an inversion path P5 through a conveyance path P4 by a conveyance roller 20. A switching guide member 25 guides the document upward along the conveyance path P4, and nearly triangular switching guide members 23, 26 guide the document downward along the inversion path P5. The document is conveyed to the inversion path P5 extending below a read section B by an inversion roller 22. When a sensor S5 detects the transit of the rear end of the document, the inversion roller 22 is stopped, then it is reversely rotated to convey the document upward.</p> |
